The 10 Most Shocking Images of Modern China
I was going through some photos the other day when I was checking up the status on the Chinese Sichuan Earthquake that happened not long ago, and came across these ironic shots of modern, or at least recently pictures of social phenomenons in China. Considering the fast development and globalization of the Country, these shocked me and almost put me into tears.
1. A 17 year-old mine worker, carrying over 50kg of coal over a distance of 1000 meters for only 1 Chinese Yuan per load. That's about 15 cents in America.
2. Poor helping poor. It's ironic where kindness of heart appears.
3. A typical classroom in regions of poverty.
4. Old grandmother recycling waste card board for a living. Where are her children?
5. The distance of a meter, the difference of a lifetime. Compare the two children in this picture.
6. "Don't worry, grandma will find a way to pay for your tuition in the city."
7. Will you spare them some change?
8. She's smaller than what she's carrying...
9. Knowledge is power... anywhere.
10. "I want to be clean but I'm starving..."
I just hope these situations change as we become more educated and realize that as our lives get better, there are still people suffering out there. Please share your comments & views but remain civil. The world is developing but there is still much to do.
God bless them.

that's so sad. my mother always told me that when she was going around collecting money for charity that it was always the poor who gave the most generously because they know what it's like while the rich & entitled tend to be more tight fisted.

As the blogger I shouldn't really be laughing... but since this is a humor blog, I'll admit: I chuckled.

The one that really stood out to me is number 10, poor kid. I wish I could adopt him.
